Eagle Bluff is home to a multitude of unique and adventurous, overnight summer camps for kids entering grades 3 through 11. Each camp allows the campers to experience the best of Eagle Bluff’s adventure activities on our high ropes courses and at the archery range, but also has its own distinct theme. Each theme allows them to explore and immerse themselves in a new focus area of their choosing. From learning to handle raptors to discovering what it’s like to sleep outdoors in their own shelter, Eagle Bluff campers gain new skills, build their self-confidence, and foster their relationship with the natural world.

*Due to state requirements, participants must be at least 11 years of age at the start of camp.
Campers will participate in fun, hands-on classes taught by our staff and gain the knowledge and skills needed to become a responsible and successful hunter. Campers will also get the chance to do a ropes course during their stay.
*Unlike our Forkhorn I camp, participants are not required to complete coursework prior to the camp.
Camp Highlight: Campers will earn their Firearms Safety Certification at the end of the course!

Junior Adventurers is a great first-time camp experience for young campers. Campers will spend their days trying new things like rock climbing, archery, shelter building, and much more. Go swimming and tubing on the Root River. Be silly at campfire. This camp is sure to leave these campers with some awesome summer memories!

Night Owls is designed with late night adventurers in mind. What happens when the rest of Eagle Bluff goes to bed? These campers will find out! They will stay up late each night to experience camp in a whole new way. After sleeping in, they will spend the afternoons participating in traditional camp activities as well.
*Parents, be rest assured that your camper will still be getting at least 8 hours of sleep per night!

In Survival 101, campers will spend the week learning basic survival skills- from finding wild edibles and fire starting, to shooting arrows, blowguns, and rifles. During their one night camp out along the Root River they build shelters, make the fire, and enjoy tasty campfire meals!

Survival Extreme is for campers who want to put their survival skills to the test. Everything in this camp is a step up from Survival 101 – more challenges, a wilderness first aid class, more meals on the trail, and a tougher Survival Games arena. These campers will need their backpacks and sense of adventure to survive!

Eagle Bluff’s most popular camp is back! At Forkhorn I, campers will spend time learning about safe hunting practices, while also improving their skills in canoeing, archery, rock climbing, and more! The option to complete the MN Firearms Safety Certification is also available. This camp is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association.
Camp Highlight: Shooting at both the rifle and shotgun ranges!

Pedal & Paddle camp is looking for adventurous explorers to tackle the Root River trails! Campers will canoe, bike, and camp along the river in and around beautiful Lanesboro. The journey starts and ends at Eagle Bluff, so there will even be time for a ropes course and the climbing wall!

Rocks, Rivers, and Ropes is looking for thrill seeking campers for our first EIGHT DAY camp as this camp is full of adventures. Campers will improve their rock climbing skills, learning to belay each other, do all three Eagle Bluff ropes courses, AND get plenty of river time in canoeing and sail boats. **We highly recommended that these campers are comfortable with heights.** Due to the experiences offered in this summer camp, space is limited, so don’t wait to sign up!

Forkhorn III is designed for campers seeking expand their knowledge of big and small game hunting tips and techniques while completing their Advanced Hunter Certification. We'll also learn some basic wilderness first aid, have a river tubing adventure, and spend time playing the classic camp games! This camp is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association.
Camp Highlights: Learn about new firearms at our ranges and enjoy a two night camp-out along the Root River.

Take things up a level with Forkhorn II camp! These campers will improve their archery and shooting skills, focus on marksmanship and large game hunting techniques. Plus, there will still be time for the classic Eagle Bluff activities! At the end of the week, campers will earn your Bow Hunter Safety Certification through the Minnesota DNR. This camp is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Deer Hunter's Association.

At the request of many campers, Advanced Wildlife Encounters will be offered as a new camp this summer! Throughout the week campers will focus more on their raptor handling, improving their skills and learning more about raptor care. Plus, they will still have plenty of time for traditional (and non traditional!) Eagle Bluff activities.

Wildlife Encounters is for those campers who love getting up close and personal with birds or other critters. Designed for animal enthusiasts, these campers will be out in our ponds, streams, prairies, and forests seeing everything from toads and frogs to bats and snakes.
Camp Highlight: Time learning how to handle one of the Eagle Bluff’s four raptors!
2016 Summer Camp Rates
All summer camps require pre-registration. Your camper's placement is held by making a non-refundable deposit.
**Early Bird Rates end April 15th, 2016**
Full payment for the Early Bird rate is not due until camp check-in.
* Returning Camper Discount: Enjoy 5% off the listed price if your camper attended an Eagle Bluff Summer Camp in 2015 (excluding 2015 Firearms Safety, Forkhorn I, or Forkhorn II Camps). Your discount code will arrive in the mail, and is used on our Eventbrite Online Registration Page.
Cancellation policy: Cancellations made at least 15 days prior to the start of camp will receive a full refund less the deposit. Cancellations made less than 15 days will be charged the full amount.
Staff and Counselors
Our summer staff is comprised of adults aged 21 or older who have a college degree, and have experience working with youth. All of our summer staff will have spent the previous year working at Eagle Bluff with our school groups. Campers are supervised at all times, except when in their rooms at night. An on duty staff member will be sleeping in their own, clearly marked room in the same section of the dormitory as the campers in case they are needed in the night. Meet the Staff »
