School Residential Program

Our specialty! Eagle Bluff's Residential Program offers engaging classes in an outdoor setting which promote student learning in a manner that is not duplicated
in a classroom.

Our program imparts valuable life skills such as stewardship, respect, accountability and teamwork through interdisciplinary hands-on learning.

is aligned with Minnesota 5-8 state academic standards.

Program Length: Schools stay 3-5 days at our campus and participate in classes and activities of their choice, chosen from our diverse curiculum.

Classes and Activities: Eagle Bluff offers morning and afternoon classes along with programs and activities that continue after dinner.
  • Day Classes: Classes are three hours in length and offered in the following topics: Ecology, Nature Identification, History and Culture, Challenge Skills, and Outdoor Skills.
  • Naturalist Programs: Students wind down after dinner and free time with a large group presentation such as our live Raptor presentation, STARLAB inflatable planetarium, or Backwoods Buttercup, a lively interactive character program.
  • Evening Activities: This time is led by the teachers and adult chaperones and rounds out the evening. Popular activities include the Night Hike, making Dream Catchers, participating in Eagle Bluff Olympics, or entertaining around the Campfire.
Additional Programming: In addition to classes and activities, your students can participate in the following programming:
  • Your group will practice hands-on conservation efforts through the Eagle Eye Resource Conservation Challenge and the FoodWISE food waste reduction and composting program while staying in the dorm and eating the dining hall.
  • Celebrating Healthy Active Kids (CHAK): Do you wish your students were more active and knew lifetime fitness skills? CHAK is an optional, FREE program which adds a fitness and health focus before, during and after your visit.
  • Eagle Bluff Journal: Eagle Bluff offers a specially designed journal created to complement your specific classes.
