New This Year
We work hard to make our program better and better. Here are some updates for this year:
- Pre & Post-Visit Activities / The Teaching WEB The Teaching WEB (Teaching With Eagle Bluff) is an effort to provide resources for teachers to integrate environmental education and their Eagle Bluff residential experience into their own classrooms. For a limited time, teachers participating in the Teaching WEB will receive continuing education credit and a monetary stipend for reporting on the use of the activities. This program is offered in partnership with the Jeffers Foundation. See the website for more information: www.eagle-bluff.org/in-the-classroom.html
- NEW Naturalist Programs! We are pleased to announce the addition of a new Naturalist Program, Whitetails: Trouble or Trophy to our assortment of engaging options. Also offered is an updated Root River Power and Light program. Learn about SE MN's largest game animal or the fascinating story of this area's hydroelectric power undertaking!
- New Water System In order to reduce the sulfur odor of our water, we have installed a new system which will hopefully eliminate any noticable smell.
- Electronic Device Usage We request that chaperones do not use any type of electronic equipment during classes or any time they are On Duty as chaperones. (Students are not allowed to bring/use any electronic devices). This includes cell phones, laptops, iPods, etc. Chaperones are welcome to bring/use these devices in the Lounge, personal rooms or in the parking areas anytime they are not an On Duty chaperone.
- School IDs We request all teacher chaperones to wear their school ID nametags while at Eagle Bluff.
- Student Footwear KP: Due to health codes, please be sure to have your students wear closed toe shoes while on KP duty, no flip-flops or sandals. CANOEING: Participants should wear shoes that can get wet AND will not fall off. Shoes like Crocs sandals must be worn with the back ankle strap.
