Professional Naturalist Fellowship

An Experiential Environmental Educator Training Program

Naturalist Staff
Quote

Eagle Bluff has trained educators through the Professional Naturalist Fellowship program since 1997.  Participants in the Fellowship program spend nine months developing teaching, public relations, and many other skills which will prepare them for success as an environmental educator.

The fellowship begins in late August and continues until the beginning of June of the following year.  Naturalists are exposed to
a wide variety of audiences and classes during the year.  They learn by doing, through direct
teaching experience guided by staff support, professional workshops,
and a series of evaluations which are conducted throughout the year.

The primary audience we serve are 5th through 8th grade students who participate in our Residential School program, however, students can range from 1st through 12th grade. Our audiences are also scout troops, youth groups, at-risk youth, teacher groups, family and adult weekends, and college classes.
