Eagle Bluff and many other local organizations have teamed
up to offer a FREE day of fun and service in honor of Earth Day.
Help clean up the Root River Valley, participate in some fun
activities at the Community Center, or just come to learn
more about your local earth-friendly organizations.

Service Projects
 
Activity Fair Events

Service project and city-wide clean-up meet at the Community Center at 9 AM to check-in. Gloves, bags, and equipment will be provided.

 

Geocache for Trash
Learn how to use a GPS unit with Eagle Bluff Staff as you travel around Lanesboro collecting trash and searching for hidden geocaches.

Root River Canoe Clean-up
Put in at the Lanesboro Dam, take out in Whalen, and have fun canoing and cleaning the river in between! Canoeing equipment, shuttle, and a river guide will be provided.

Tree Planting
Help remove carbon dioxide, add oxygen, prevent erosion and provide habitat just by planting a tree!

Lanesboro City-Wide Clean-up
Do your part to keep Lanesboro clean by participating in the city-wide clean-up. Many different routes will be available to walk.

Farmers Market Sampler -
See what spring is sprouting!

Plant & Seed Exchange - Get ready for spring planting by trading and/or bartering for new plants!

Build a Rain Barrel - Did you know that a rainfall of about 0.3 inches can fill a 55 gallon rain barrel? Capitalize on the opportunity to green your garden without increasing your water bill! Materials for 55 gallon water barrels will be on hand and expert barrel-builders will offer advice. Cost is $20 per barrel. Pre-payment for materials is required. Contact Eagle Bluff for more details.

Build a Composter
Tired of stinky trash bins? Placing your food scraps in a composter will not only minimize the trash you place by the curb, you can generate fertile soil for your garden. Materials for a 55 gallon worm powered composter will be on hand and the "Compost Queen" will offer advice on how to make the most of your compost. Cost is $20 per composter. Pre-payment for materials is required. Contact Eagle Bluff for more details.

Earth Day Dinner


Something for Everyone - Gardening Tips

David Cavagnaro will be speaking about how to reap the benefits of gardening in your own back yard. David is the creator of The Pepperfield Project, which is dedicated to helping individuals of all backgrounds improve their quality of life through education programs that teaches them how to develop and enhance their relationship with food, cooking and gardening. Leading by example, the Project helps people experience the joy and satisfaction that comes with hands-on food preparation, gardening and other agrarian based skills. The speaker will begin at 5:30 p.m. and dinner will follow at 6:45 p.m.
